Transit Drivers, Get Ready for Smart Mirrors

Why Ford’s New Smart Mirror Is A Game-Changer For Van Drivers

When you’re behind the wheel of a van, you often have a limited view behind.

Even with side mirrors, there’s always that lingering question: is something lurking just out of sight?

Whether it’s a cyclist, a pedestrian, or a car sneaking up behind, these blind spots create real challenges.

But here’s the good news:

Ford has developed a solution to make driving safer and easier.

They call it the Smart Mirror.

Meet The Ford Smart Mirror

Ford’s Smart Mirror is designed specifically for their Transit vans and Transit Custom vans.

Unlike regular mirrors, this one shows a live video feed from the back of your van.

You might ask, why does this matter?

Most vans have limited rear visibility—especially when loaded with cargo or missing rear windows.

Blind spots can make driving tricky, especially for van drivers.

With the Smart Mirror, you’ll see exactly what’s behind your van in real-time, giving you peace of mind.

How Does It Work?

The Smart Mirror replaces the standard rearview mirror with a digital display.

A camera mounted on the van’s rear door sends a live feed directly to the mirror.

This setup allows you to monitor everything trailing behind your van without obstructions.

Even if your van has opaque rear doors or a packed cargo area, the view stays clear.

And there’s more.

Automatic Brightness Control For Any Time Of Day

The Smart Mirror adjusts brightness automatically.

This means no more struggling with glare from the sun or dim lighting at night.

You’ll always have a clear view, whether it’s daylight or dusk.

Twice The View Of A Standard Mirror

Ford’s Smart Mirror offers double the visual range of a typical rearview mirror.

This increased range means more visibility and a better sense of your surroundings.

And when you’re aware of what’s around you, you can drive with more confidence.

What’s The Cost Ff Enhanced Safety?

Like any advanced tech, the Smart Mirror isn’t cheap.

If you’re interested, be prepared for a price tag of around £675.

Yes, it’s an investment, but for the added safety and visibility, many drivers may find it worth every penny.

How To Save On Van Insurance And Upgrade Your Safety

Considering the Smart Mirror?

You might want to start by reducing other expenses—like your van insurance.

With savings on insurance, you could invest in this cutting-edge mirror, adding an extra layer of safety to your daily drive.

Safety on the road starts with visibility.

And with Ford’s Smart Mirror, you’ll have more of it than ever before.

Save on your van insurance costs with us here, and perhaps you can use the rest of your savings on a brand-new sparkling Smart Mirror.

Autumn of Terror – White Van Man STRIKES Again

Jack…is back…and he is terrorizing the roads and streets of our nation yet again.

It is the white van man who is striking terror into the minds of ordinary motorists this Septmeber.

Experts are expecting the terror to continue into October, meaning this is now classified as the…

Autumn of terror.

Much like the summer of rage and winter of discontent, this autumn of terror shows that many white van drivers don’t have any “off season.”

Instead they get into their white ford transit vans and put pedal to the metal and unleash all out terror…

Just like one man in a white van who stopped to get out of his van…to punch a woman jogger!

Shocking!! Is all we can say here at CVI.

Or how about the white van driver who can be seen on dashcam footage SMASHING head on into a car. The reason? Because he was checking out a young woman who was still dressed for summer, even though it was Autumn…

The Autumn of terror, that is!!

And what about the white van owner who burned rubbish in his garden, night after night, leaving his neighbours frustrated and angry.

“This isn’t bonfire night…you know?” shouted one of his neighbours.

“I know…this is Autumn,” the white van owner replied, calmly, but with a menacing terror in his eyes.

Before long the white van owner was attacking his neighbours. There was real terror in the neighbourhood, on that night.

Do you know what though? While there are some white van drivers embracing this Autumn of Terror…there are many of you white van owners who are hard working, law obeying, and just general all around good people.

Sure, you might get up to a few tricks here and there and you might even get a bit hot under the collar against other NON white van owners.

But…you are not into punching joggers, or driving head on into other drivers, or attacking your neigbours.

That is NOT your style.

And if that is NOT your style then you are welcome here at CVI.

We welcome you to fill in our 3 minute form and save a packet on van insurance.

Introducing…The White Van Woman

I’ve spoken a lot recently about the so called “white van man” but reports are suggesting it is the “white van woman” that should be getting attention.

All the headlines have been about destruction, anger, drunkenness, and home movies…the “winter of unrest,” it has been called. White van men unchained.

However, a recent survey quite clearly shows us that 32% of van purchases are now made by women. Will they soon be making headlines with incidents of rage and unrest? Who knows, they might do.

One of the reasons for women getting behind the wheel of the traditional white van is because they are being used for more varied pursuits.

For example, nearly 1.5 million households have at least one van parked in the garage or on the drive, and almost half of those people admit they use it for both business and pleasure.

So a self employed business woman may very well use the van for driving around with stock during the week, and then load it up with a couple of bikes at the weekend to go and enjoy a bike ride.

Research also shows that women like to buy vans such as Ford Transits and Mercedes-Benz Sprinters, so they can travel about in style. White is the preferred colour, and Cheap Van Insurance is their favourite comparison website.

There is also more women who are getting into trades such as building, roofing, plumbing, delivery driving, and carpentry. I’m sure they all consider Cheap Van Insurance to be the number 1 website.

Applying for C1 and C1E licences is something else that women are starting to do more of, so they can start driving vehicles that are considered to be heavy…between 3500 and 7500kg.

This all benefits the van industry of course, where van sales are the best ever and van accessories are big business.

It’s estimated that between January and October of this year there are around 10.5 million internet ads relating to vans being clicked on per month. Business is good and it looks like it is only going to get better.

Sure, we talk a lot about the negative side of the van industry on this blog, what with rage and unrest…and ice cream cones being thrown around, but when it comes down to it, the news is very much good.

It becomes even better when you visit Cheap Van Insurance to get your next quote, because you instantly get to compare around 40 companies, and then it becomes easy to choose the best one.
